To me, Wallpaper’s are a delightful way of being reminded of the people and things that make us happy in life. My Wallpapers are emblematic of what I love and whom I love. That’s why I teach a class on creating and editing Wallpapers as part of my iPhone For Seniors program. In the class, my students delight in finding special photos in their Photos app, and then applying those images to their Wallpaper.
A benefit is that my students get to practice the long press gesture; identify the difference between the Lock Screen and Home Screen, and practice the gesture of pressing the side button. It’s a great concept to teach because so many learning objectives are covered along the way.
So below I’m presenting a guide on the 1 key step for seeing those Wallpapers.
A Guide for putting your phone to sleep and waking it up.

Simply press and release the Side Button (located on the right side of your iPhone)
- Press once to put your phone to sleep.
- Press once again to wake it up.
Enjoy seeing those happy memories! In a future class, we’ll learn how to have your iPhone automatically change its Wallpaper every day.

Interesting classes you teach!
