Big news for Apple users! While reviewing my iCloud storage on my iPhone, I spotted something surprising — an icon for Preview, the same app we’re used to seeing on Mac. At first, I thought this was just leftover macOS data syncing to iCloud. But after digging deeper (and chatting with some savvy Redditors), I’ve learned that this is actually a sign of what’s coming next.
Apple appears to be bringing the Preview app to iOS for the first time ever! According to what I’ve found, the new Preview app will launch alongside iOS 26, which is expected to roll out this September. That means we’ll soon be able to open, annotate, and manage PDFs and images on our iPhones just like we do on our Macs — right inside the official Preview app.
Even more interesting? You can already see the Preview app for iPhone listed in the App Store, but it’s not available to download yet unless you’re running a developer or beta version of iOS 26. Everyday users like us on iOS 18 will just have to wait a bit longer.
